Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), originally established in 1993 as Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT), was accredited by the Malaysian Ministry of Education in 2004 and granted university college status. It was renamed to University College of Technology and Innovation (UCTI). Later, in 2012, it was upgraded to university status and renamed as Asia Pacific University (APU). Since its establishment in 1993, APIIT has grown into a large education group, and its brand "Asia Pacific" has become one of the most powerful brands in various fields of education, from primary to higher education.
