Introduction
Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is a non-profit higher education institution established on 13 August 2002 as a UTAR Education Foundation.
UTAR Abdul Rahman Abdul Rahman is a not-for-profit comprehensive university with a focus on "holistic education" and aims to be a global university that provides quality education and has a sustainable impact on society. The University currently has 2 campuses, namely Kampar Campus in Perak and Sungai Long Campus in Selangor. At present, there are 9 affiliated colleges, 3 research institutes, 35 key research centers, 4 learning centers, and more than 130 majors, covering liberal arts, business, management, science and engineering, science and technology, agriculture, medicine and other fields. UTAR is widely recognised for its academic qualifications and standards, and its programmes are currently recognised by more than 20 professional bodies in the country and abroad. The main medium of instruction at UTAR is English, with an emphasis on practicality and all undergraduate students are required to participate in an industrial internship to complete the course. The school encourages students to develop their own soft skills, and has set up soft skills courses and a diploma system to this end. Since the inaugural graduation ceremony, the University has nurtured more than 82,000 graduates, and 95 to 97 per cent of students are employed within nine months of graduation.
Campus
The UTAR has two campuses, , respectively Kampar (Kampar) main campus (7891 acres) and Selangor Sungai Long (Bandar Sungai Long) campus (150 acres).
Features and Advantages
In 2017, UTAR was self-accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and was recognised as a 5-star mature university by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). UTAR is ranked in the top 1,200 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 and in the top 350 in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings. UTAR Abdul Rahman is a full-fledged private university recognized by the Ministry of Education of China (http://jsj.moe.gov.cn/), and Chinese students can go to the Service Center for Scholarly Study of the Ministry of Education for academic qualification recognition after graduation.
Dormitory
It is exclusively offered to undergraduate students.
The hostel offers twin sharing rooms for 2 occupants, middle sharing rooms for 4 occupants, and master sharing rooms for 4 occupants. It is segregated into male and female quarters.
Facilities at the hostel include: swimming pool, multipurpose hall, gym, playground, rooftop garden, and surau.
Room furnishings include: bed, mattress, wardrobe, wall or ceiling fan, chair, study table, and water heater.
